The World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) invites you to participate in The Planetary Arts Movement: X-ART, an online event exploring the transformative power of the arts in addressing global challenges and co-creating a peaceful and flourishing world.
The event is supported by the Club of Rome and will feature our three distinguished members: Joanna Nurse, Silvia Zimmerman de Castillo and Garry Jacobs, as speakers alongside other leading voices in art, science and culture.
This initiative builds on WAAS’s long-standing vision of integrating art, science, and human values to respond to the most urgent threats facing humanity and the planet.
Event highlights
Participants can expect:
- Introductory reflections and panel discussions on the role of the arts in advancing human security and global transformation
- Perspectives from thought leaders working at the intersection of creativity, culture, ecology and innovation
- Dialogue on the arts as catalysts for peacebuilding, cross-cultural exchange and the advancement of an ecological civilisation
- A special segment introducing The World We Want for Planet and Peace: X-ART Live, to be launched in London in April 2026
This event offers an opportunity to engage with a global movement that positions creativity and the arts as essential forces for peace, resilience and planetary renewal.
We are proud to have signed their Manifesto for the Planetary Arts Movement.
Advanced by the World Academy of Art and Science, the manifesto calls on artists, scientists and institutions to work together to cultivate a culture of peace and a flourishing planet for all. Its principles span wisdom, ecology, creativity, inclusion, narrative and networks.
