In a nutshell, we work with partners around the world on key initiatives that help shift mindsets and enable systems transformation.

Identify the tensions and barriers that prevent meaningful progress on issues like climate change, inequality and social breakdown.

Bring together diverse collaborators to develop fresh approaches to these challenges.

Work with partners to implement practical interventions that encourage new behaviours and ways of working together.

Our threads of work

Rather than leading with a fixed agenda, we nurture collaboration, support shared sensemaking and help connect diverse efforts into a larger, more coherent field of change.

We amplify what already exists, build shared infrastructure, and help stories, insights and efforts circulate across contexts, aiming to catalyse a human revolution.

It’s an ambitious vision, and we’re starting by focusing in the following threads of work:

Emergence, resonance, pollination

_

Across the world, diverse initiatives show that local, place-based solutions rooted in living systems work.

These examples spread not by copying, but through what we call ‘pollination’: sharing ideas in ways that resonate locally, creating ripple effects of change.

The Fifth Element is a platform for shared learning, sensemaking and transformation. We support people and organisations who are committed to systemic transformation but often feel disconnected from each other, from clarity of direction, or from the conditions needed to go deeper.

We’re not here to replicate what already exists. We’re here to help connect and amplify it, creating the conditions for deeper trust, coherence and emergence.

Intergenerational collaboration

_

Can intergenerational collaboration help us shift to long-term, regenerative strategies in business and policy-making?

We’re working to empower young leaders to drive systems transformation. Bringing together youth, academics and experts to create practical solutions for the world’s biggest challenges.

Reframing research for the 21st century

_

How can research best address the complex challenges we face today?

We’re reframing the role of research and innovation in society and exploring how transdisciplinary thinking and community-driven research can change academic research.

We work with universities, communities, funders, and international organisations to co-design interventions and tackle challenges in collaboration.

Reconciling worldviews across cultures

_

Across North and South, East and West, we work to foster mutual understanding that enables transformation, moving beyond “us and them” towards peaceful pluriversality.

Regenerative enterprises

_

What would make regenerative organisations viable and widespread?

If the aim is to achieve “sustainable development,” regeneration must become the new norm. To achieve this, we’re working toward reinventing organisations, especially businesses, which are currently constrained by outdated frameworks that prioritise short-term profits, relentless competition, and growth at any cost.

Art for social transformation

_

Harnessing all human capacities and languages, including all forms of artistic expression, can maximise the potential for collective transformation through learning.

Our intuition is that artistic practices can play a vital role in helping humanity transition from accumulated convergent crises to desirable futures. While art is innate to all humans, it is often viewed as a decorative business.

The Fifth Element challenges this perception and facilitates activities that nurture this intuition.
